Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AkashicPay ("AkashicPay," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit or use AkashicPay.com (the "Site") and any related services (together, the "Service").

AkashicPay is a decentralized, wallet-connect–based crypto payment gateway. We do not operate user accounts, do not require sign-up with an email or username, and do not collect names, passwords, or identity documents to use the Service. This policy is written with that model in mind — most of what follows concerns data collected automatically through analytics and monitoring tools, rather than data you actively hand over to us.

1. Who We Are​

AkashicPay ("we") is the data controller responsible for the Site for the purposes of the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise a privacy right, contact us at: support@AkashicPay.com

2. Scope: No Accounts, Wallet-Connect Only​

AkashicPay does not require you to create an account. You interact with the Service by connecting a third-party crypto wallet (AkashicLink) directly from your browser.

Because of this:

  • We do not collect your name, email address, postal address, or password.
  • We do not perform identity verification (KYC) and do not collect government ID documents.
  • Wallet connections are typically established directly between your wallet/browser extension and the blockchain network, not routed through and stored on our servers, unless stated otherwise in Section 4 below.

If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before collecting any new category of personal data.

3. Information We Collect​

3.1 Information You Provide Directly​

We do not require you to provide personal information to use the core Service. The main case where you might voluntarily provide information is if you contact us directly (e.g., a support request or email), in which case we collect whatever information you choose to include in that communication (such as your email address and the content of your message).

3.2 Information Collected Automatically​

When you visit the Site, we and our third-party service providers automatically collect certain technical and usage information. We currently use three tools for this purpose:

a) Google Analytics We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., pages viewed, time on site, referral source, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to distinguish visitors. Data is processed by Google LLC, which may transfer data internationally (see Section 6). You can learn more about Google's practices and opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or Google's own privacy documentation.

b) Microsoft Clarity We use Microsoft Clarity to understand on-site behavior through session recordings, heatmaps, and click/scroll tracking. Clarity may capture mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page navigation paths. Clarity is configured to mask or exclude form fields and free-text input where technically possible, but you should avoid entering sensitive personal information into any field on the Site as a precaution. Data is processed by Microsoft Corporation.

c) Datadog We use Datadog for infrastructure monitoring, error tracking, and performance analytics — for example, to detect site errors, monitor page load times, and ensure uptime and security of the Service. This may include technical data such as IP address, browser/device metadata, request logs, and error traces. Datadog data is primarily used for engineering and security purposes rather than marketing analytics.

Across these tools, the categories of automatically-collected information typically include:

  • IP address (and derived approximate location, e.g., country/city level)
  • Browser type and version, operating system, device type
  • Pages visited, time spent, click and scroll behavior, navigation paths
  • Referring/exit pages and URLs
  • Date and time of access
  • Error logs and performance/diagnostic data
  • Cookie identifiers and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)

3.3 Blockchain and Wallet Data​

Because AkashicPay facilitates crypto payments via wallet connection, the following applies:

  • Public blockchain data. Any transaction you make using a connected wallet is recorded on the relevant public blockchain. Blockchain transaction data (such as wallet addresses, transaction amounts, and timestamps) is public, permanent, and not controlled or erasable by us or by you — this is an inherent property of public blockchains, not a feature of our Service. See Section 9 for more on this.
  • Data we may process ourselves. Depending on how a given transaction flow is implemented, we may temporarily process or log information such as a connected wallet address, transaction hash, or payment status to facilitate the payment, display transaction confirmations, or troubleshoot errors. Where we do this, we treat the wallet address as personal data on a precautionary basis (regulators increasingly treat wallet addresses as identifiable when they can be linked to other data we hold) and apply the same protections described in this policy.

4. How We Use Information​

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Site and Service
  • Understand how the Service is used so we can improve it (analytics)
  • Diagnose, debug, and fix technical errors (Datadog)
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
  • Respond to support inquiries you send us
  • Comply with applicable law

We do not use this information to build advertising profiles, and we do not run targeted advertising on the Site.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies​

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and tracking pixels) set by us and by the third-party tools listed in Section 3.2. These fall broadly into:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for basic site functionality.
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, used to understand site usage.
  • Performance/monitoring cookies or identifiers — Datadog, used for technical monitoring.

Where required by applicable law (such as UK/EU rules on cookies), we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies, via a cookie banner, and you will be able to change your preferences at any time through that banner or your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Site function.

6. Third-Party Service Providers and International Transfers​

We share automatically-collected technical and usage data with the following processors, strictly to provide the analytics and monitoring functions described above:

These providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where this involves a transfer of personal data out of the UK or EEA, we rely on legally recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where applicable to the provider), or equivalent mechanisms, as offered by each provider.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

7. Data Retention​

We retain automatically-collected analytics and monitoring data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy (typically governed by each provider's default retention settings, which we configure to align with data minimization principles), after which it is deleted or anonymized. Public blockchain data persists indefinitely by the nature of blockchain technology and is outside our control (see Section 9).

8. Your Rights​

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:

  • Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of personal data (note the blockchain limitation in Section 9)
  • Restriction or objection — request that we limit or stop certain processing
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format, where applicable
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent (e.g., certain cookies), withdraw it at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g., the UK Information Commissioner's Office)

We do not sell personal information and do not engage in practices that would trigger a right to opt out of sale under US state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA), but you may still contact us with any request regarding your data and we will respond consistent with applicable law.

9. Important Note on Blockchain Data​

Public blockchains are immutable and decentralized by design. Once a transaction is confirmed on-chain, no party — including AkashicPay — can alter or delete that record. If you connect a wallet and transact through the Service, the resulting on-chain data (such as wallet addresses and transaction details) will remain permanently visible on the public ledger, independent of this policy and independent of any deletion request made to us. We can only delete data that we ourselves hold off-chain (e.g., in our own logs or systems).

10. Children's Privacy​

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Security​

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data we hold, including relying on reputable third-party providers (Google, Microsoft, Datadog) with their own security commitments. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet or stored on our or our providers' systems.

12. Changes to This Policy​

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features, new analytics tools, or changes in law. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes we will provide additional notice where appropriate (e.g., a notice on the Site).
